Minor adapatations

Minor adaptations (typically under the value of £1,000) include things like grab rails, lever taps, or hand rails. To request these adaptations please complete the below form.

We can arrange and fund minor adaptations without a health professional’s recommendation. These ‘pro active’ adaptations will usually be completed within 28 calendar days, although there is a fast-track system available for urgent requests.

Major adaptations
Adaptations such as level access showers, ramps, or lifts, over the value of £1,000, should be referred to your local authority for a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) which is means tested.

To apply for a major adaptation, first you must register for an assessment by an occupational therapist through your local authority for your needs to be assessed. Click here to download the request form which includes contact details for the local authority teams in Devon and Cornwall.
