Liverty Volunteering
Volunteering plays an important role in our communities, bringing people together, providing skills, knowledge, activities and opportunities that may not exist otherwise, a sense of shared purpose and achievement and also the chance to make extraordinary things happen. Active local people are part of the important blend of things that make great communities.

Why is Liverty promoting volunteering?
Our communities are vibrant, volunteering is often unreported as people don’t necessarily see what they do as volunteering. What we do know is that in the last year we had over 200 young people and adults putting something back into their community, donating 8,000 hours of their time to do something worthwhile for free. And our communities are good at it, our Appetite for Change Timebanking partnership was recognised nationally in 2015 for its innovation, impact and inspiration to others.
All of this sits well with what we are about – not just building houses but helping to grow great communities and giving something back.
