Our homes in Plymouth have been shortlisted in the Inside Housing Development Awards for the ‘Best regeneration project (non-London)’ category.  Emerge Granby Green provides 101 quality homes for the Devonport community, 36% of which are affordable housing.

The Inside Housing Development Awards recognise outstanding organisations and individuals who have demonstrated their ability to thrive in the new housing landscape.

Tony Franklin Business Development - Commercial Director at DCH said: “I am really pleased that our homes at Granby Green have been shortlisted in these prestigious national housing awards. Emerge aimed to re-integrate Granby Green with its surrounding streets, introducing a more balanced mix of accommodation meeting a wider range of housing needs, and establishing a mixed-tenure, more sustainable community.”

The regeneration scheme involving the demolition of 164 post-war flats is a significant milestone marking the final phase of DCH and Linden Homes’s work in the Devonport Development Framework, which began in 2006. Emerge Granby Green is more than just new housing – it has generated economic growth and jobs together with community confidence and wellbeing.

The development, completed in October 2016, forms part of Plymouth City Council’s Plan for Homes. Devonport remains an area of significant deprivation; across the city, 3,601 households on the Plymouth City Council Housing Register are in need of 2-3 bedroom accommodation. Emerge at Granby Green has created a sustainable community with a range of tenures and house types in an area that were previously majority social rented blocks of flats.
